Is this person the one!

As a Christian single, perhaps dating this person for a while, I want to know, "is this who God has in store for me?"  Well first off, there are the negotiables and non negotiables. Negotiables, I can't advise you with.  You have you're own preferences, prejudices, etc.  This includes physical appearance, personality traits, interests.  My personal take is, God gave that person a certain physical appearance that they were born with.  So as long as they look like the bath and groom themselves on a daily basis, and do a modest attempt to keep healthy and don't have horns growing out of their head, I will usually be open minded to them.

So now that the superficial stuff is out of the way, how do I know this person is a legit Christian, and I'll have a God honoring marriage with them?  Most people ask themselves, are they open to going to church every week, do they pray, do they read their bible, do they serve at church?  All these are legitimate results of Christian faith, but can be masked from human eyes.

One of the things that Christians recognize is, are they a sinner needing daily repentance?  Repentance is the act of examining of ones own desires/actions, and changing that direction to God's desires and actions, which is a result of Lordship.  Christians believe Jesus Christ is "Lord" and "Savior."  Many "Christians" believe Jesus as "Savior" but not as "Lord."  Lord means, one must change and their actions and obey their Lord.  The only way to obey the Lord is to know and have a relationship with the Lord.  Fruits of obeying the Lord, changes because of convictions based off the bible.

Can I get married to any Christian person?  This is a difficult question, but I believe you must ask yourself, does this person put me in a better position to deepen my relationship with God, or will put me in a position to pull me further away from God.  This does not mean perfection or how long this person is a professing Christian, as we all have fallen short.  It does mean, praying to the holy spirit and asking, "does this person put me in a better position to deepen my relationship with God, or will put me in a position to pull me further away from God."

Feel free to post questions!
